Why do you suppose Microsoft is being so stubborn about Kinnect?

after watching the controller vid it seems that a (creepy) feature would be that with the sensors on the controller and kinect it would be able to tell when you pass the controller to another player therefore changing the gaming profile to match instantly instead of going through the menu

If MS really wanted developers to get excited and push the limits of the Kinect, MS should have been the first ones out the door with an AAA game experience utilizing the Kinect. Gamers would have been impressed and wanting to play the game and developers after seeing that would be more comfortable working with Kinect alot more than just voice commands. But nope instead we got a non mandatory device with more shovelware for it and no AAA games in sight and packed as $100 more than the competition.

GREAT BUSINESS STRATEGY!

XB1 designers think the XB1 would have too little luster without the kinect. So instead, they force something onto consumers that repels the core gaming community.

At least they're sticking by something they said. Not that it's a great something.

If the rumors are true, they have no choice. Kinect 2.0 costs as much to develop as the console itself, and they need to recoup that money somehow...

Wow both MS and Nintendo spent too much money on something unneeded. I guess you gotta differentiate yourself from smartphones/tablets somehow. The price may still be too high in the end.

Honestly it's none of these.

Chances are there are a few high-ego and high-up executes that are riding high on Kinect. If they backtrack on Kinect they might as well quit the company and find another job.

A lot of the gaming community understands that a $400 X1 without Kinect would be a sales monster and I'm sure most MS employees believe so as well, but the grunts on the ground at MS aren't running the show.
