He has essentially nothing to do with the Xbox brand.

Um..... No?

Decisions like the DRM nonsense and the product as a whole don't go without his approval. He might be the CEO with a lot of choices to make but he also has the say on things that are major like that.

Sure he doesn't and this was before Julie-Larson Green was selected by Ballmer

Not saying the xbox issues are the sole reason for this. Thing is everything has to be run by him for some sort of approval. Any CEO worth their salt is not going to just let a division have free reign on spending 1 billion how ever they please.

But again I don`t feel this is solely related to the xbox either more the whole thing from Windows 8 to the Surface not being received well.

I think you need to get out, son.

And you guys are misunderstanding what I meant. He may pick the people that work on the Xbox, but he doesn't directly do anything for it.

Don Mattrick was forced out after E3. Steve Ballmer is almost 60 and has made billions of dollars. Him retiring has nothing to do with the Xbox One.

Yes but do we really need to count the number of 180's Microsoft performed within a month? I have my Xbox One pre-ordered with 9 games paid off but for Microsoft to announce two big fish especially your CEO is considered breaking news.
