Will XO (or PS4) be able to play MKV video files?

It's a pain in the ass that 360 can't. MKV is a better file type that is becoming the preferred one to use for HD videos. So I'm really hoping we're not going to be handicapped with the next gen.

Yeah I wouldn't expect anyone on the Xbox One boards to know anything about the Xbox One.

You don't have to be an ass. Nobody but Microsoft knows. And I doubt even they know for sure lol. No official HD video files that can legally be accessed and owned come in the .mkv format. If you're so desperate to watch your pirated movies then convert the files. There are plenty of programs out there.

Well I was partially wrong, but I was referring to actual movies like what you might find in the theater. Unless there are websites that offer .mkv for actual movies legally.
