Since I just spent $3000 on a high end gaming PC, I'd laugh at the $900 dollar one as it struggles to play games at medium settings on my way out the door to get my consoles.

My 700$ PC maxes most games. 3000$ is extreme future proofing.

^ this...but to be fair...computers are like a cars....you can get what you need to get you from point A to point B with no problems...or you can go in style and buy a Ferrari.

How are they forcing me to spend it? Just curious. I mean if it is not to bad I would just keep the money.

If I have to choose I would go the consoles as they get the games I like. Although I would love to play Oblivion and Skyrim with mods.

You're doing it wrong if that's the case. Mine cost slightly over 900 and runs everything fine.

With $900, I can build a PC that handles high settings on current games. It won't do ultra high settings or resolutions above 1080p, but it can play the games well. Now it may not have a SSD for the OS.

And that analogy of PCs being like wives, that wife can cook, clean, knit, balance the checkbook, and is willing to learn more tasks. It may need some attention, but I get a better return for giving that attention.

The amount of votes for the first option baffles me. The Xbone (and PS4 to a lesser extent) are mostly just less powerful PCs, and owning both is almost entirely redundant. The main market for them is for people who can't afford a PC, and this theoretical poll is eliminating that problem.

Why I made the topic

And all this bitter crybaby nonsense on the boards
yet more would take both consoles over a pc

Plenty of gamers just want everything to work out of the box, while having to pay absolutely no attention to hardware or configurations.

Like it seems most people have said, I too have to just throw it out there. You spent way too much on your PC. I only spent around $800 on all my parts and it plays everything perfect on max settings. And all I have to do is upgrade a few parts here and there every couple years.
