bringing mods to the XB1

how feasible would this be?

one of the main reasons I continue to game on pc is that modding can lead to some awesome experiences and adds to replayability

i feel like it could be done on console if someone wanted to

Thats why not. Gotta keep you buying new ****. The market isn't diverse enough (console policies) to force companies to create with replayability in mind. You get 8 hours of an unfinished mess of a game with limited future support (based on how much DLC they can pawn off on you) and then you need to move on. The amount of publishers on the PC forces replayability as a draw to their game. Enough people did it that bigger companies need to or are torn apart.... I love playing on a console.. (mostly mouse vs controller issue) but PC is better in every single other way.

For modding to work on consoles, it would have to be free to use, and free for modders to make, console makers will never allow that.

But if true I can see Bethesda games like ES or Fallout support this with maybe GTA.
