EA: "We don't deliver offline experiences any more"

"We're seeing more and more of the online experience being part-and-parcel of every game. We don't ship a game at EA that is offline; just doesn't happen," Moore said.

Moore explained that gamers want to be connected for a variety of purposes, including keeping tabs on in-game statistics and achievements, as well as playing online multiplayer.

"So yeah, we don't deliver offline experiences any more."

As said by Peter Moore, COO of EA.

As much as I hate to say it, I may be correct on MMOs and multiplayer taking over the single player experience. Sadly, this may be the future of gaming as a whole as we can see from their NFS Rivals and Titanfall.

Hopefully this board doesn't completely overreact like the PC board and start screeching about how this means EA will never make single player games ever again. They said this like two years ago. It's nothing new, just means that every game will have some kind of online "thing", like Twitter or Facebook integration or multiplayer.

EA says the dumbest stuff.

"Because you rallied behind the total failure of our Xbone DRM box experiment. We will now require all of our games online all the time. We took notes from Blizzard. So that'll teach you. Buy our games, party on, and deal with it."

Fixed his statement.

well guess I won't buy EA games because I mainly buy single player experiences.

My last 4 purchases. The Last of Us, Skyrim Legendary Edition, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Mario & Luigi Dream Team.

I thought basic Kinect features was motion controls in games and voice recognition. Not online Skype and tv control.
