War Thunder dev: PS4 GPU is 40% more powerful than Xbox One GPU

Gaijin Entertainment has bluntly stated that the PS4 GPU is 40% more powerful than the one in Xbox One. We already knew this for a long time but Microsoft had never confirmed the console’s GPU specs. Currently the PS4 GPU runs at 1.84 teraflops compared to the 1.3 teraflops of Xbox One GPU.

I don't think this is really a surprise as it has been pretty much stated from the start but he did also say " DDR5 is basically 50 per cent more powerful than DDR3, but the memory write is bigger on Xbox One so it depends on what you’re doing".
Which would suggest hat in some cases the xbox could be better.

most games we won't see any benefit anyway, since developers usually scale everything down to the weaker of the two.

40% more powerful but the games still don't look any better?
Several dozens developers working on ps4 games need to gets fired.

It certainly made a difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360, more than likely multiplatform games will end up having higher native resolutions or at the very least higher framerates in situations where they're GPU limited. We might end up seeing other details here and there like higher resolution shadow maps or other features which would take little time to implement.
