Is "XBone" really that bad of a nickname?

I am petty sure Xbone came from all the original policies that were 'Boning' gamers.

If they're trying to convey some sort of insult, its a moronic nickname.

Xbox 180 or "Xbox Done" are far more clever......which is of no surprise to me why those two never caught on......when you consider those that use it as if its some great burn.

Absolutely agreed. Trolls ran with the first thing they thought was clever though.

Except it's both trollish and not at the same time (since it's a combination of Xbox and One). Hence that's the genius part of it.

Rabid fanboys hate it...hence it's pretty good.

Exactly this. It rolls of the tongue and it a pretty natural way of shortening Xbox One. The fact that it brings to mind connotations that a lot of people associate with the XB1 is just an unhappy coincidence for sensitive MS fans

Just pronounce it "Cross Bone" and suddenly it sounds like a wrestling submission move.

I suppose if you're trying to "troll" the short bus. For everyone else, its absolutely stupid when used in a derogatory way. As mentioned above, I've always thought "cross bones" as in skull and cross bones.....yeah, there is imagery that hasn't been cool (powerful, menacing) for hundreds of years......./sarcasm.

Again, its of no surprise to me that "Xbox Done" or "Xbox 180" (monikers that are actually somewhat clever) never caught on when you consider those that consider "Xbone" to be "genius". lmao.

Well if you have to ask the question then yes. However success can turn a bad name around. iPad and Wii were bad names too, but since the products behind the name were in such demand, it didn't matter. If that happens the I think a bad name turns around and becomes a positive since it is so memorable.
