The titanfall devs said at gamescom that the xb1 isn't even finished yet.. they don't have the final hardware..so if the final hardware isn't completed how can they get fcc approval?

PS4 got FCC approval using a dev kit.

Gonna need proof of that one.

Yeah I'm gonna have to ask for a link to that as well

you asked for a link 5 hours after bessy posted a link >_>

Yeah I didn't notice the second page -_-

Seems odd them being able to get FCC approval on the dev kit...why hasn't MS done this? With Sony's hardware being finalized thede is no real risk of them copying their specs

Who cares if they get the FCC approval right now or next month... If MS are still tweaking with the specs then why would they get an approval and then change the product, wouldn't they have to go through approval again??

Just let them do what they need to do and stop worrying about it. People are only going on about it because Sony got their approval, if the approval wasn't announced, nobody would be talking about it.

I imagine the components of the dev kit are the same as the retail model. The main thing the FCC wants to know is how it receives and transmits wireless signals and any electromagnetic interference levels. With the dev kits the bluetooth and wifi antennas are the same even if the rest of the components are moved around.

Also, the FCC approval process takes between 8 and 12 weeks. 8 weeks from now is October 23. Microsoft can produce all the hardware they want before getting approved and add the sticker later. They just can't sell the hardware without that sticker.

This topic is kinda dumb.

Ms is a multibillion $$ corporation, you seriously think they just forgot to get fcc apporval

It's sad that people still support Sony after they had to take down their network for almost 2 months and let thousands of user accounts get compromised.

July article.

PS4 is locked and loaded, fully prepared! Shame on MS. Expect delays, and another RROD situation.

There we go. Major Nelson himself says that the FCC approval was earlier this year...

I don't understand why people are so fixated with this kind of information when it really doesn't concern them. If it was approved today or months earlier, the console is still going to get released.

For people who are getting an X1 regardless of it's release day, it shouldn't really matter. I'm not getting either one at launch, but I'm getting an X1 first. It's my choice, the FCC approval, the specs, the launch date and even the launch titles don't really matter for me. I will be getting one a little bit later when more games are released and everything has calmed down a bit.

Believe it or not. They considered it a +1 in the PS4 column. But like their indie stance. Microsoft were 3 steps ahead. They just don't talk about it.
