60 frames per second with less detail or 30 frames per second with more detail?

This has nothing to do with PS4 vs Xbox One, I am curious to what people prefer and I am hoping to see more 60 fps titles on the new consoles. It seems most developers cram as much of this and that into a game as they can and try to dial back just enough to achieve 25~30 fps and call it good.

i'd go with 60. i turn vsync off in almost all of my PC games just to maintain 60+ frames. (notable exception was D3, because screen tearing was absolutely horrendous in that)

Why not make it an option like they did with bioshock?

I prefer smoothness than Graphical Detail.

I am with you 110%. This is the biggest upside to PC gaming, the option to adjust detail in favor of more frames. Bioshock is the only title I own on consoles that allowed you to do this although the options were much more limited they served their purpose well. Consoles are becoming very powerful with more options and devices than ever, why can't we see more games that allow for this?

No point in having the FPS higher than your display Hz...Vsync should lock you at 60FPS unless your card is struggling at a certain point and vsync being off won't change that.

I guess it depends on the game mostly. Lots of games are ok with 30FPS with the notable exceptions being FPS, racing and fighters. I still vote for 60FPS because my main genre is FPS games

Where's the "1080p" option?

I prefer 1080p and 60 fps, with as much detail as developers can reasonably include and still get that.

The 1080p is more important to me.

I never really notice a difference between 30 and 60 so I'd go with more detail.
