The Xbone is slowly just turning into a PS4

Back when the PS4 an Xbone were first announced, you could easily tell the difference between the two consoles in terms of features and how they function.

Microsoft started to realize, "Damn, people arent liking this drm, always on, and unpluggable kinect features, thats so surprising! Lets copypasta what those sony kiddies are doing, it looks super effective!"

Hmm ps+ members get free game deals? Copy/paste
Sony pushin for used games? Sounds good Copy/paste
Install games from mobile devices? Genius! Copy/paste
Microsoft points..yea screw that lets actually leave it as real money #'s like on the PS consoles, copy/paste

See where i'm going? Innovation coming from competitor's successful marketing, really doesnt matter what console you get now, both are practically 95% identical.

An dont pull any fanboy cards im simply stating the very "copycat" style marketing Microsoft is pulling, and its very amateur for a big company like Microsoft to do. I plan on getting both consoles either way, but id love to see DIVERSITY.

p.s, I love the incredibly sly marketing of a free fifa with every xbone in Europe, very sneaky microsoft. Here fishy fishy

Achievements, Party Chat, Headset in box, Non intrusive or tedious updates, Entertainment apps (Netflix etc.)....yeah, "copycat"

Also, Game installation from mobile devices was announced a few days after the competitor. Unless you ignorantly think they actually did that AFTER hearing news about it, there is no way to tell who planned/implemented this first. As far as you are concerned, neither one copied the other in this respect.

That "copycat" style is called listening to the idiots that buy your console, aka making money and sustaining your business. Both companies do it, and neither one should be ridiculed for trying to bring great features to their consumers.

Well if everyone hated your console and loved the competing console, what would you do?

Because Sony doesn't do this either...
- Charge for online
- Make a controller with actual triggers
- Trying to push their camera like Kinect, move/wii motes
- Getting twitch support instead of using ustream

Why is companies picking up the others' best features a bad thing?

You can guarantee starting a download while on the go is something both were going to be able to do before this week. They didn't just decide to tack these on one day recently.

How is giving FIFA free to preorders sly? It's a way to sell more systems by giving it extra value. Couldn't the same be said of the Killzone bundle in France right now? Neither of these are sly, it's called competition.

"turning into a PS4" == Not being a lousy system.

Overall, a good post. However, Sony isn't pushing their camera to nearly the extent that MS is pushing Kinect. Also, they are getting twitch in addition to ustream, which shouldn't be surprising considering that their official E3 conference was done through twitch.

Deadlock also posted some things that Sony copied.

The simple fact is that all of the companies ultimately try to copy what is working from the others. This isn't new; this isn't revolutionary. It's just business.
