So what is the reason behind the boost if PS4 is still more powerful?

I mean they have spent billions to upgrade the graphics yet the PS4 is till more powerful, before that MS was saying their machine is better than anything else in the market because you can watch and pause movies and more T.V channels than the other rivals??? Are you serious MS???

Being less inferior to the PS4 is still an improvement.

It means we can avoid potential disasters like Skyrim for the PS3 was, which is a good thing for all of the platforms.

But ultimately, does it matter? The only time the difference in power is every going to show itself in any meaningful way is on platform exclusives. And even then, since there is nothing exact to compare it to, it would ultimately end in people arguing opinions at each other. Multiplat games are not going to be much different, as they are programmed on a middle ground and not fully optimized to take advantage of each systems unique hardware.

As far as XB1 goes all these lategame revisions probably increase the risk of system instability/RROD, but for gaming in general this is a good thing.

Multiplat games are often planned around the weakest console (excluding the Wii series because because many developers don't bother with something that comparatively weak). The less weak it is, the stronger multiplat games will be.

Now the Xbox One is holding back the quality of multiplat games less.

A little extra power is never a bad thing. If people stopped improving themselves just because they still couldn't be the best, no one would improve anything. MS improved the XB1 because they're focusing on bettering their device, they don't really care for the console war as much as we do.

All of this wouldn't matter if the Xbone was the same or priced less than the PS4.

Since when does having the best tech specs make the CONSOLE the most capable?

The Original Xbox was way better TECH-WISE than the PS2... nobody, switched consoles because of the TECH.

The Nintendo Wii was sold out in stores for almost 2 years... Worse Specs than the Original Xbox.

DreamCast had better tech specs than its competition, and before the Xbox Launched was already off the market.

The answer to the boost... The system is more optimized now... and this means that Likely a Hardware Expansion can be made in the future, to make the console More powerful, simply by plugging in a part, which would likely be included in a future build of the console.

I would much rather have the Optimization now, than worry about it 6 months from now, or a year.
