Called Best Buy they said preorders are first come first served

So that means I'm not guaranteed one on release day even though I preordered?

check again, usually if preorders are limited it goes:

Every store has different rules. The store manager at the one closest to me that all preorders will be filled before general. Stock goes on the pallet.

Bottom line, someone at the top needs to clarify.

Doesn't even make sense for a store to take pre-orders beyond its supply.

It doesn't make sense to have fans pre order then tell them oh first come first serve. They better not Xbone me on my pre order or screw me over my PS4 pre order.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4
Because I can buy both.

I'm suddenly reminded of a certain Seinfeld scene.

I hope they get sued

Best Buy (and in fairness some other retailers) had some shenanigans with bundles before making you buy useless stuff with the console. Hopefully they will avoid that this time.

They don't generally know their supply >.> Their corporate is told by Sony how many the entire company should be allocated, and then BB divides that up by store. It's not a guarantee, it's simply them going "Okay, take up to 200 or 300" or what have you.

Then if Sony goes "We could only ship you this much" BB has less stock than they hoped. Guess what happens then!
