Powerful to Emulate 360 games at 100% full speed?

The xbox 360 CPU architect is too different than xbox one.

It would not work well, if at all.

xbone would need it's CPU to be MUCH more powerful to software emulate xb360.

By powerful, I mean the latest, and greatest CPU available.

Proof of this can be found in older emulated consoles.

With every newer console, PC needs to be that much more powerful.

Wii emulation requires AT LEAST an i5 Intel CPU

Software emulation is heavily CPU intensive.

Agreed. Its the reason for the recent comment about the PS4 being 50% more powerful.

That argument stemmed from a developer staging an unoptimized version of COD: Ghosts was running at 90 fps on the PS4 vs 15 fps on the XBO. COD runs on a last gen game engine that is optimized for the 360. The XBO isn't BC and doesn't share any of the same architect. Games will run like crap on the XBO if they are simply ported or emulated.

A dev at beyond3d said no. They tried but inconsistant results meant the project died.

Most X360 games are 720p then upscaled to 1080p.

Not even the fastest home PCs can do it so... no.

Not to argue semantics, but in this case (and the OP) it's not just semantics, it's just wrong information.

All the games will be upscaled to 1080p if you have the 360 set to output 1080p. What you mean to say is that "most" games are 720p and a few are 1080p. Or like Solis more accurately said, 10 to 20% running below 720p, some above or at 720p, and a few at 1080p.

Both SOny and Microsft failed miserably at this. THey both could have made the systems BC, but they would rather make more money selling you an "HD" version of the same game you already bought.

No thanks. I am already switching to PS4 after the MS anti consumer strategy..but if the Xbone had 100% BC....I would pretty much HAVE to buy the Xbone at some point. Since the best AAA are multi plat and Streets of Rage and Double Dragon aren't coming out anytime soon. I don't have to worry about what I am missing

Uhh both machines are running on different architecture to the old ones so its not exactly easy at all, if even possible. Plus the PS3s cell i wouldn't even begin to think about how hard that would be, developers have struggled with that for years.

Emulate 360 with a low end laptop CPU?

lol
