EDGE article cherry-picked again

I saw there was already a topic about some of the cherry-picked comments from the EDGE article, but I didn't see these comments in the original post or focused on very much in the comments:

“Let’s say you are using procedural generation or raytracing via parametric surfaces – that is, using a lot of memory writes and not much texturing or ALU – Xbox One will be likely be faster,” said one developer.

Indeed, despite that gulf in speed, the differences between cross platform launch window games will be negligible; with tight deadlines to meet, it’s more expedient for developers to deliberately create near-identical versions.

“It would be totally fine for us to make one version prettier without any political difficulties but it usually doesn’t make financial sense,” they said, “unless it’s a very simple tweak.”

Another stated that we’ll begin to see far greater use of each platform’s unique features once we’re past the first wave of releases, when developers have more time and experience with each console’s quirks.

The difference between cross platform launch window games will be small, and improved graphics drivers plus the power of the cloud might yet tip the balance in Xbox One’s favour.

Lies. All lies.

M$ has deep pockets, they can bribe those they desire to make the PS4 version on par with the lesser XBone version.

And then Sony will sue them to get some deep pockets of their own. Sony wins!

This right here pretty much means multiplats will look about the same because the developers have no financial reason to make the PS4 so much more graphically superior.

The better hardware will probably only be utilized for Sony exclusives.

Anything that suggest X1 is better or has anything better than PS4 is a lie. Heck, PS4 even has a better Kinect than the X1.

/end sarcasm

Yeah, probably the same for Xbox One exclusives. Halo will get all the advantages that the PS4 doesn't have. Uncharted will get all the advantages the Xbox One doesn't have.

I thought you were really smart until I read the last part.

Downscaling is actually really easy to do.

After all, that's how games ported from PC look so much better than consoles.

Just that last generation, there was no reason to develop to get the most out of the PS3.

So, sorry that your straw grasping did not turn out the way you wanted.

Like the Developers will talk? They took the bribe, they would potentially face the heat too. Especially if it has been happening before even the X1 time.

M$ also has the cash to bury any Dev that steps out of line.
