You guys do realize that sony is pretty close to giving up on their entire hardware division. 6.5% of sony shareholders want to sell the entire hardware division including playstation. Sony is also pretty close to breaking up into multiple divisions leaving the ps4 to rot in the dust.

Yes yes and Microsofts shareholders want the company to exit the game industry because there apparently is no real future for it and it's a big waste of money. Face it, once PS is gone so will Xbox.

Ohh look whos back. FYI PlayStation is Sony's most successful division. BTW theres a possibility that the X1 might be the last console that Microsoft will ever create.

This. Sony will lose face and give up their struggling TV division before they fold their successful Playstation division.

Playstation ain't going nowhere anytime soon.

What are you talking about? The entire division lost around $6 billion dollars with the PS3... the entire gaming division is now only at a $1.2 billion profit which means most of the profit from the previous two generations were destroyed.

Sony's gaming division even in the PS2 era was a FRACTION of the company as a whole in terms of profits.

This is so ignorant...

As for MS exiting, its possible but not nearly as likely. They have more money backing them, the company itself is not in a rough position and either way, they are not likely to crap out in the middle of the generation. They've already spent quite a lot of money on the Xbox One, much more than Sony has and will wait for those returns at the very least.

I have no doubt if Xbox One gets dropped either someone else will pick it up or some other company will fill in the console gap, like Steam Box or Apple or Google. Next generation doesn't concern me too much. Both consoles can fail for all I care.

Also, folding their TV division might come before PS4 but thats not exactly amazingly reassuring. The prediction is that the entire company may file for bankruptcy in the next two years.

But the point is Sony is not going to give up playstation. The Ps4 could be successful enough to get them afloat for a few more years.

But thats just a possibility just like bankruptcy. Did people not see this coming with Sony selling off its office buildings just to account for their losses???

How do you know Sony isn't going to sell or give up Playstation? There is a lot of uncertainty at Sony and having just lost that much money is nothing to scoff at.

The likelihood of them making a lot of money isn't very likely. Things have been different since the 360 generation. Companies are now lucky to make a profit at all.

I'm a Nintendo fan, so that works for me lol (just to clarify, I'm fine with PS. it's MS that I want to rot)

I think Sony would give up its tv division before giving up consoles. The PS4 is already looking strong and so is the X1. I'm thinking the Ps4 could help Sony a lot financially.

Lol whut? The TV division actually makes them profit. Like everyone else Sony will lose money on every console sold. They always do.
