Ryse is 900p, Killer Instinct is 720p, and DR3 has a "dynamic" resolution.

WTF is going on?

They are going for graphics detail, effects, and objects on screen rather than resolution. I don't fault them, resolution doesn't mean **** if you don't have the graphics to back it up.

"Dynamic"? does that mean the game switches resolutions as certain parts of the game??

I'm curious to know what a "dynamic" resolution means.

And I'm curious to know how Killer Instinct went from confirmed 1080p60 to 720p60. In fact, Digital Foundry reported that it (almost certainly) WAS running at 1080p60 at E3.

Digital Foundry lied or it was running on a PC.

Like with WipeoutHD on the PS3, the game is set at 1080p60, but when there is a lot action on screen, the game starts to switch to lower resolutions to maintain the frame rate.

"Dynamic resolution"

LOL that is one of the stupidest things I've heard to promote a technical aspect of a game in a long time since "Blast Processing".

Translation: Unstable resolution trying to adapt to maintain performance. tc can you provide a link or article? This is the first time I even heard of this "feature" being used. You either keep set on 1 resolution or don't. Please clarify..

This comes off as saying like: "In Uncharted 3, this level runs at 720p. But the next level goes down to 600p due to dynamic resolution."

"Dynamic resolution" makes me think of somebody trying to PR-spin really bad screen tearing.
