How often do you buy 3 month cards?

#1Orange_ApplesPosted 9/21/2013 5:02:58 AM
Just looking at Xbox Live and PS+ and those 3 months cards are pretty dumb. There must be something I'm not quite getting so if you do buy them: Why do you pick them over the 1 year cards and how often do you buy them?

I hope xbox one has ms points cards to buy instead of using your credit like u can get say 50 dollars to put online in the store for gift cards and stuff for people to use instead of your credit card for only buying of games and add on content. I hope gamestop sells these cards like they do for the psn network

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything in this topic.

Which is kinda the point. the 3 month cards are the more expensive option.
12 months at $60 is $5 a month.
3 months at $25 is $8.33 a month.

If anything, to prove you aren't poor you should constantly be buying the 3 month cards at full price.

Absolutely never.

I just keep an eye out for 13-month cards that go on sale for $30~ or so and pick one up.

I walk into gamestop with the intention of getting a one year subscription and getting out, and then I spot that game that i didn't want until I saw it and I end up getting the game and a 3 month instead to save money.

A few months ago I purchased 4 years of live for $30 a piece. Anyone that pays full price is dumb.

Which is why I hate when people argue that PS+ is cheaper than XBL. Me and my brother share a PS+ account because we don't play it that often but wanted some of the games offered. I've never seen a year go for less than $40 before despite all my searching. If you're comparing full retail price you're just not living in reality.
