Searched but didn't find it posted: Escapist reviews RYSE.

Ryse: Son of Rome Hands On Preview: Are You Not Entertained? STEVEN BOGOS | 21 SEPTEMBER 2013 3:37 AM 13 Ryse: Son of Rome looks beautiful and feels slick. It may just be one of the Xbox One's "killer apps". Tucked away behind the closed curtains of the "Adults-Only" section at Microsoft's Tokyo Game Show booth was a new playable demo of Crytek's upcoming Roman-tastic action RPG: Ryse: Son of Rome. I got a chance to try out a co-op arena survival scenario, playing together with a Microsoft rep who was much better at the game than I.

You may recall that in my Deep Down preview earlier this week, I described the combat as "clunky". Thankfully, there's none of that to be had in Ryse, as combos flowed naturally, the control scheme felt great, and the combat was nice and smooth.

The simple light attack, light attack, heavy attack combo that is present in just about every action RPG ever served me quite well, but I was able to easily experiment with dodges, blocks, and special attacks to vary up the combat. Pulling off combos feels good, and rewarding, without being overly punishing if you mess up. Anyone who has ever played God of War will feel right at home.

This is just part of the article. The rest is here:

This sounds great and has me getting much more interested in this game. However, I still can't shake the fact that if this was about Spartans instead of Romans I would've had this as a day one preorder. Maybe with DLC?

EDIT*** Also, this is a preview, not a review. Sorry about the mess up there.

Curious... Because everything I've seen from the game has looked laughably poor.

I dare say, this "review" should taken with a silo of salt.

@MashYouGood
Lol wouldn't taking something with a silo of salt technically be negating the phrase?? I get what you're doing but it doesn't "technically" work. Idk I have nothing else to post. Yay Ryse...

Escapist also gave GTAV a 70/100 because the characters did despicable things in the story. Lol.

Maybe he's trying to imply that it takes a "silo" of salt to balance it out?

Although I would definitely disagree with a 7/10, I didn't find GTA 5 that impressive either. Also, that was a different person.

I think that Ryse will be a good game in is genre...
but i think too that its just a way for Crytek to test its Cryengine improvement on a new console...

And for person that think that porting a game from PC,PS3 and 360 was really hard...i found a good link around the crytel website...look at the bottom of the page...Livecreate...

A grain of salt, implies that this information is so insignificant that it only requires one grain. A silo of salt, implies that this is gigantic news. Take your pick.

Escapist didn't review it, this is a blog post about a demo running on a pc by a random guy:

Steven is an avid gamer who lives in Japan as an English teacher. Alas, he has the heart of a writer and kids himself into thinking he's a games journalist in his free time.

I agree with the bolded part.
