Sony promised 30 first year exclusives for ps4 first year. Too bad they are mostly indy titles.

Sounds like there will be after all, just no announcement on which game yet:

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/it-looks-like-us-xbox-one-buyers-may-receive-a-free-game-after-all/

“About the U.S. Xbox One, as of the moment, the Game which will be free is still yet to be announced however, there will be a free game for the pre-ordered Xbox One,” the rep said (emphasis added). “You can check the information once we have it updated on our news.xbox.com website or you will be updated on your email address which you have the Xbox account linked to.”

Awesome news, makes the $499 price tag seem a bit better. I'm betting they'll offer Madden 25 or Forza.

It was confirmed that there won't be, I thought.

I thought Panello or somebody tweeted that foreign markets got free games because the cost of hardware is so much higher over there.

I think that was before the backlash of "unfair" they heard from US gamers, lol. Like I said, that was the most recent link on the subject I could find.
