Casual

Now there is a word that has pretty much lost all meaning in this community. Used now, as some derogatory catch-all by those that want to believe their place in gaming is somehow more valid than another....as illustrated by some of the comments above.

I have thousands of dollars invested in gaming.....its my favorite pass time......I visit message boards any gaming sites.....sub to many a yt channel.....keep up with, well, pretty much everything gaming related.....but I gotta tell you, I'll proudly wear the uniform of the "casual" because I've developed a real contempt for those that fancy themselves core players over the last few years.

Unless your getting paid for playing these games, you are a casual gamer, it's as simple as that. Pro gamers who are not sponsored or getting some sort of income from their gameplay are not pro gamers, they just think they are.

Think that pretty much sums it up.

get paid to play = "hardcore/Pro"

Not getting paid = "Casual."

"Courting The Casuals"

The first thing that came to my mind was:

"Hey girl, I heard you like Angry Birds?"

Casual implies it's something that one dabbles in from time to time, something they don't take seriously or place great value in. You can be a core/hardcore gamer without being a professional.
