Does the next gen $100 difference matter?

Or will PS4 and Xbox One sell around the same amount of units?

At this point in the game it is a big deal because that is almost 2 games when both consoles have about 6 games worth getting.

I can get an XB1 for $500 or a PS4 along with Battlefield 4 and Watchdogs for $520.

In the long run not so much, but in the immediate future it is a big deal.

Maybe.

Not so much when you consider how long we'll have these machines

$100 difference is just a minor thing on the growing list if issues some people have with the xbo. Sales for the xbo, if current trends remain true, are going to be lower than the ps4 for a while. It may recover, it may not. Difficult to say. Personally, I think that if microsoft can avoid anymore massive blunders, it should be able to turn things around.. but I don't think that it will ever outsell the ps4 worldwide.

It matters to a lot of people. Microsoft bundling the Kinect with every Xbox One has really angered a lot of people to the point where they won't even consider the system. I understand why Microsoft is doing it though. They have invested millions if not billions into Kinect 2.0. Releasing a Kinect less Xbox One would all but doom the camera. Developers would have less incentive to use it and most consumers wouldn't buy it. The people who really want an Xbox One but not Kinect are forced to spend extra cash on something that may just collect dust.

I think people are more upset about why it's $100 more rather than that it's $100 more.

But, then again, it's hard to really get a sense of what the community thinks since for the most part the community doesn't think.

This depends on who your focusing on. is it going to matter to the casual? yeah it is. Is it going to matter to the hardcore? Not even a little bit.

I was prepared to preorder both at E3 regardless of price.

It's 100 ******* Dollars.

Do you go around tossing 20$ bills everywhere you walk? Do you wipe with 50$ bills?
No? Then you're not rich enough and it does matter.

How is this even a question?
