So is this the generation where developers waste to BS casuals?

I am pretty disappointed with the people who think Killzone is 50 gigs because its next gen. What exactly needs all that memory? Much larger games that look far better exist on PC at 1/5 of that space or less.

So are we going to be suffering huge downloads because these people think if they fill up a disc, they can say "hey our game is BIGGER!" to the idiots who believe it? Am I going to be picking up a copy of BF4 thats 50 gigs on PS4/XB1 and 8 gigs on PC?

I was all excited to see what Bluray was going to provide us this generation but now I see its just going to waste our HDD space for those of use going digital. This is a far greater issue than switching discs...

Judging from your first paragraph, you must have played a lot of that new killzone game if you know bigger and better games exist on the pc.

He said they're larger (assuming world size) and look better. Nothing about actual gameplay.

Yes I do know that bigger and better games already exist on PC but that is far besides the point. There is nothing about Killzone that remotely justifies 50 gigs. It would be a joke on PCs to say "oh its next gen, so its 50 gigs!". It is not a game packed with content, tons of audio, amazing graphics or otherwise. Games that are graphically far superior with many times the amount of content are much smaller on PC.

Or do you claim that Killzone might be the largest game to have ever released with 50 gigs of actual content? What naive, delusional fanboys...

MGS4 released in 2008 was 50G. Mind blown?

Yes and it was a complete waste of space.

On the internet connection I'm stuck with, 50gigs is a turnoff, but would hardly phase me if I lived in the town over and could download it in a few hours.

I am boggled sometimes by how they can take us so much space with nothing, my first thoughts as a developer would be the best way to compress the data without lowering the quality.
