300000 servers (the cloud) vs a FEW servers

Stop comparing Microsofts server setup to that of GTA4 online. It's asinine.

Yeah, it's not as if those 300000 servers ever have any issues!

it's not how many servers sheesh...it's a technological theory that they are still working on...it has too many problems at this point to be touted as a "feature"

Few, thanks! I was worried the "power of the cloud" wouldn't be available for you guys at all times, making games that utilize it unplayable.
But seeing as how you're all okay with that, my concerns have been for not.

I, too, believe in a random number pulled out of hat by a company that's been called out repeatedly for lies and misinformation.

Fun. Enjoy your blisters from circular j****** one another.

300,000 is a very small number for a tech company the scale of Microsoft.

I would be very surprise if Microsoft doesn't have about 1 million servers already. Every companies tell lies and misinformations but this is not one example of it, actually people don't need Microsoft to tell them to know that their cloud infrastructure is massive. Comparing them with those servers used in GTA Online is laughable.

And people often argue that clouds won't affect much on the XBox1's performance. It's may be true at launch but people forgot that these servers are in the hand of Microsoft so they can freely upgrade it of add functionalities long after launch date. On the other hand, XBox1 and PS4 will be fixed with their hardware configuration and won't be able to change it for the next ten years. 10 years is a life time in technology and the potential of cloud computing is unlimited.
