Just Attended Xbox One Tour in Philadelphia, PA Ask me anything

Managed to get down to the place for little bit today. Was a lot of fun. I'll post some pics and thoughts later. I will say this, 18+ is BS. There was tons of little kids running around when I was there around 3:00.

First, thank you both for sharing your thoughts. I am glad it wasn't blind fanboyism. I really "felt" your reactions to the games through all these posts and pictures. It reminded me of how I used to feel when I was a child on Christmas morning. I have that feeling again with the Xbox One. Again, thank you all for sharing!

Now, I have to ask, how is the audio on Forza? I know in 4 a lot of the cars had pretty cookie-cutter sounds. That was always my major complaint. Especially the muscle cars. Your thoughts on the sounds? I know you're not a racing guy but you seem to give good feedback so your opinion on this will be respected.

As I was going up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. I wish, I wish he'd go away.

The sound was a little hard to hear, they had a DJ blasting techno music so even with the headphones I don't know if I could say how good it sounds.

My thoughts:

The Controller. At first glance the controller felt weird. I picked it up before playing a game just to see how it felt and I was aware of the wider angle, and the curved triggers. However all this disappeared as soon as I started playing a game and I never again noticed the controller. Within secs it felt just like I was playing on an Xbox 360 controller.

Killer Instinct - The game looked pretty good graphically. Lots of splashy effects and decent character models. As for the gameplay I only got in one match against someone who plays a bunch of fighting games so I basically got my butt handed to me.

Ryse - I didn't get to play but looking at the graphics, for an MP game I don't see what the complaints are. The graphics looked pretty good. The gameplay however looked a bit clunky.

Dead Rising 3 - This was the game I was actually most impressed with. They had ton's of zombies on the screen and I didn't notice any slowdown. I saw someone running around with a flamethrower while wearing a dress, someone riding a steam roller, electric mace, machine gun hands? The controls felt a little wonky, but no more so then most Dead Rising games. Still I was really impressed when someone set what looked to be like 100 zombies on fire with no noticeable slow down.

Forza - The cars in Forza look great. The track itself was a little boring, looked like a standard F1 track, not the cool city scapes we've seen in presentations. That being said its a pretty standard sim racing game.

Crimson Dragon - This was also a lot of fun and looked great. Again you should pretty much know what to expect gameplay wise from this.

Everything was definitely running on Xbox One hardware, no hidden compartments with computers in them. Most of the graphics are what I expect from next gen. More stuff on screen, and more subtle details.

What Kinect titles were available? did you get to use it's motion tracking capabilities? was there any input lag?

My son actually played the Kinect Wave Racing game, hes only in Kindergarten but the Kinect had zero issues mapping his size and responded instantly. While playing I didn't see any noticeable lag, the only time it stopped reading is when my son would go to far forward or back because he doesn't understand he has to stay still and play it LOL he would be literally walking up to the TV screen.

Now I know you're lying.

So not only were you able to bring your 5-year-old son into an 18+ only event (and no, just because he was with him doesn't mean he'd be allowed in... that's like saying a 5-year-old would be allowed into a porno theater just because he was with his dad), but they let this 5-year-old play an (assumedly) M-rated game for an hour.

Right.

"oh no you didn't bring your kid because they don't allow under 18 people so you must be lying"

...wow. Such brilliant. So smart. Very bright. Much genius. WOW.

Right.

Maybe we should just impose a law you have to leave your child tied up outside?

For most 18+ events ( not to be confused with 18+ unless accompanied by an adult) if you bring a minor, it means you can't come in. Concerts, bars, X rated movies, all of these have a strict 18+ policy, which is what the Xbone tour website states. The official twitter account also repeated this statement, so you can understand the confusion when the TC says he took his 5 year old in. I wasn't there and I don't know the unofficial door policy at this event but those are the rules Xbox stated. The pics look like his kid in inside playing but that goes against all the official statements of "no one under the age of 18"
