Why do the fanboys always blame trolls for the Xbox One's negative reception?

The overwhelming distrust of them is not exclusive to GameFAQs. Pretty much the entire gaming community on the internet and off has delivered sharp criticism for the anti-consumer tactics MS was undertaking.

Why would anybody act surprised that these horrible ideas would put them in an endless negative light?

If you make mistakes, conumsers are going to come down on you for it. That's a fact of life. If you don't want negative press, don't give bad ideas the green light especially when they screw over the consumer.

There are no trolls, conspiracy theorists, etc. to blame. The only one to blame here is Microsoft. And they'll have to reap what they sow.

Trolls always exist, and they are drawn to things that's easy to troll.
If you believe that 100% of all negative press around the internet is legitimate and not a single person is trolling, then you are being trolled.

Because they're blinded by brand loyalty, they refuse to aknowledge that MS got into this terrible mess themselves.

A percentage of the negativity, of course. The majority of the negativity? Absolutely not. Microsoft EARNED that ire all on their own. Those of us with common sense and level heads can see that. Those deluded by "brand loyalty" or paychecks from Microsoft cannot.

Well, like you said: troll always exist. And they always will. But to constantly blame trolls for all the bad decisions Microsoft made to give themselves this tainted image is ridiculous. It doesn't overshadow the massive waves of people giving legitimate criticism.

Anti-consumer business choices tend to have that effect on people. Yeah, I know people will tout how they reversed them, but the damage is already done. And there's no guarantee MS wouldn't try to reimplement some earlier ideas later down the road.

People may claim "oh, that's just being paranoid and ridiculous! No company would be that stupid!"

Same things were said about the rumors of XB1 requiring an internet connection and restricting used games, and we all saw how that turned out when the system was unveiled.

So no, at this point there's no putting anything past MS regardless of what the fanboys will say.

Lol.
The people who try to act like you're punting their child for wanting to play a video game console...those would be trolls.

Did you see the negative comments on the Toys R Us video? No regular person will go that far, it was a bunch of sony fanboys that had nothing better to do with their time.
