"Xbox Live is 48 per cent more popular than PlayStation Network in the US.

Thatís according to North American entertainment and sales monitor NPD, which published a report in August looking at trends in online gaming. And according to their findings, XBL is dominating PSN."

You definitely get what you pay for. One of the many reasons I'm sticking with Microsoft and X1 this upcoming generation of consoles. Looks like people don't mind paying for quality =)

Thats like saying PS4 is going to be poor quality because PS2 had DREs.

XBL has been consistently the superior service over the past 8 years and now with XB1, they are taking huge leaps forward, providing free cloud processing for persistent or evolving gameworlds for free as well as providing free dedicated servers. Meanwhile Sony is pretty much just matching Xbox 360 features that it couldn't implement well or at all last generation. We can also expect a lot of differences in the details. Look at what MS was able to do with 32 megs of ram compared to Sony's 120 meg OS?

These companies just can't compare because Sony are amateurs compared to MS in terms of their resources and ability or developing software.

I'm actually not surprised. You get what you pay for. You put a superior quality product out there people don't mind paying for it. PSN is free and people still don't want it. Speaks volumes.

You mean Sony is going to somehow become a software giant and be as good as MS in developing and optimizing system resources?

Or you guys could be realistic. To play MP games on current gen you are -required- to have a Live membership.

Playstation doesn't require ps+ for anything outside of 2-3 -specific- programs. Obviously if you are forced to have the membership on one of the systems it will have a higher enroll rate.

Come on with it.
