Will Xbox One sell more than a million units this holiday?

And the PS3 beat it handily at $500-$600 with no games, no advantages online, no advantages in the OS and with inferior looking games for the first 3 years.

XB1 should be fine.

PS3 didn't start selling well for awhile, much after a price drop below $500 and it offered a Bluray player, at the time the PS3 released, a Bluray player cost more than the PS3 did at $600

I'd say about 350,000 units. 1,000,000 is a long shot, especially when the PS4 releases a week earlier AT $100 less expensive.

It has over 1 mil preorders.....

What are you talking about? It sold more than the Xbox year for year since day one. Actually, thats incorrect. Xbox outsold it at one point but it was actually when the PS3 had a lot of games and a lower price while the Xbox had very little of anything... Just puts more hole in this logic.

So? An Xbox 360 sported a $600 video card in 2005. It was a far better value that year. It did not do anything amazing. Not to mention, Bluray was pretty unpopular and HDTVs didn't even have that high of a penetration. The most hilarious thing was watching all the people say how they loved HD gaming but they actually played on the AV cables that came with the PS3 connected to their CRTs and sometimes HDTVs...

This argument is also really weak considering the Xbox One is also playing on the same features except its more affordable and much more relevant to the times. The Kinect provides a super power universal remote for all devices, it functions as a DVR with HDMI passthrough and has tons of apps aimed at media functions in a far less niche way than Bluray in 2006.

On top of that, its clearly going to be the premier console for online gaming and has over $1 billion invested in games which has shown a drastic difference in major titles releasing over the next year. The X1 is in a MUCH better position than the PS3 was as far as a product goes.

Yes. Gamefaqs is not indicative of the market. Xbox One will do just fine and achieve a comfortable second place. People who think it will fail are just idiotic fanboys.

Releasing at the end of November might hurt the holiday sales a bit. But I would be surprised if they didn't hit the 1mil mark.

X1 will sell similar to 360. Ps4 will sell similar if not worse than ps3. Somehow ps4s exclusives look worse than ps3s.

Lol at how desperate tc is. Its pathetic.

PS4 is much cheaper than the PS3 was (was ~$500 & $600 iirc) and it's also released a year earlier (relatively, was a year later than the 360). That's ~$580 and almost $700 according to http://inflationdata.com/Inflation/Inflation_Calculators/Inflation_Rate_Calculator.asp

So yeah, almost half the price if we're counting the top model and inflation with a year earlier? Plus the fact that the PS3 was really just a good Blu-ray player for a while? Shouldn't be that bad.

X1 is also more expensive now than the 360 was then ($300 then is ~$360 now, ~$400 then is ~$480 now, $500 X1 price now). Xbox does have a much larger install base now than it did then though, but then again it didn't have the PS as competition on release.
