if Microsoft don't care about games, why invest millions into the servers?

Anything spent on Xbox is technically spent on games. That Doritos and Dew contest wasn't cheap.

The cloud is basically DRM itself, making it required to be online to even get future games to even work.

You do know these servers are also being used for Windows and other MS services right?

Correct. All those data centers have been built long ago.

Better question. If MS didnt care about games why invest ONE BILLION in First Part exclusives alone? (games like Dead Rising 3, TitanFall, and others dont count towards that as they are third party)

SO it will save Microsoft moneys on piracy over time. Or people will buy Xboxes because of servers being known as good for cloud power games (?)

You do know they said 300,000 were bought for XBOX, right?

No, it's the whole Azure cloud service, which handles everything cloud based that MS does. And it's 300,000 virtual servers. No where has stated how many physical servers there are, but it's probably much, much less.
if there's no telling how many real servers there are, and there are 300k virtual servers, then how do you know that's for all of azure and not just for xbl? why can't there be 500k, or 1m, or even more virtual servers for azure and 300k of that is for xbl?

Nope, those 300.000 servers are Xbox Live and Xbox One services only, and considering MS expands with 10.000 new server every month, the 300.000 servers are more than likely physical and not virtual.
