Well I'd say based on the PS4 having an earlier release date and a cheaper price tag it'll take an early lead.

I'd expect the numbers to get closer as time goes on through next year.

I come from the future and the civilization doesn't make it to December 14, 2013. Lets just say this console war gets a little out of hand...

PC + Nintendo
Winning combination in the late 80s, winning combination in the 90s, winning combination today.

PS4 will probably be the leading console. Either that or the Wii U. Call me crazy but with the influx of nintendo games coming out this holiday season coupled with the lowering of the price I think it will pick up in sales. If that doesn't happen the PS4 obviously because of the cheaper entry price.

Both consoles New consoles will be sold out through pretty much the entire holiday season. However you will have trolls on both sides that say their 20 of them just sitting their in their local store and nobody wants them.

It will Be Extremely tough to buy anything other then a Wii U. Which may work well in nintendos favor. However I doubt they will sell over the 1-2 million both Microsoft/sony will sell.

PS4, Sony is the cheaper console and seems to have the greater number of available units at launch.

PS4 and Xbox One will both likely sell out their available units this holiday season. It is really only a matter of how many they can produce during that period to meet demands.

I think the Wii U will comfortably trail in 3rd place.

If by "comfortably trail" you mean "continue slumbering in dead last", then I agree.
