Xbox One ports on the back remind me of this...

Just not as exciting and unlike the PS3 which was actually an amazing deal on hardware at the time the Xbox One is very overpriced for a console launch with what you get.

E3 2005 PS3 had 6 USB ports, 3 gigabit ethernet ports, the card readers that made it to launch, full PS2 which also made it to launch (Japan and North America at least), dual HDMI, and multi AV out.

I'm not sure what you'd need 3 ethernet ports for. Also worth emphasizing that the dual HDMI were both HDMI out, so the X1's HDMI in is something different, at least.

so, you're comparing reality to a lie. and, you're comparing the price too? the ps3 was priced at nearly $700 if you're equating to today's prices with inflation. that was $700 for no camera, no controller rumble, no ir-blasting, and if you're being honest, fewer ports than the picture you posted.

$499 model was not and sold at about a $300 loss, not adjusting for inflation.

Both launch models sold for $240+ in losses... That's without the E3 2005 bull specs.

Xbox One is breaking even or small profit at $499....

I win.

I'm not sure what you'd need 3 ethernet ports for.

Sony thought about the possibility of the PS3 also being able to act as a router (Kutaragi craziness). These ethernet ports were there because of that. They dropped the functionality to save on cost.
