If people want an XbobOne but not a kinect, why don't they just sell the kinect?

there will be a pile of those things in a dumpster behind gamestop

the only reason they are forcing it on everyone is so they can go to advertisers and brag about their install base.

we've sold 1 million xb1's so your ad will reach 1 million customers

this is why they were forced to give up their always online stance....and eventually the once a day.

they wanted to update the ads...no internet...no updates

$500+ folks smh

So without kinect they cant show you ads? What?

Due to the fact that its bundled with every console, why would anybody need to buy one separately?

So instead of just keeping it and putting it somewhere else just incase you do plan to use it later, you are saying people hate it that much that they are still going to spend $500 on the xbox but they will take out the Kinect and toss it in the trash?

Even you can admit that what you just said was idiotic.

The Xbox One uses an upgraded Kinect. It's not the same as the Xbox 360 Kinect.

Also, I think it's a good idea that Xbox One includes Kinect, because these means everyone has it, and the developers will develop more games for it, which means more people will try Kinect games.

It's popular with families and little kids, so it's a great device to have, and that's what they're trying to capitalize on. The Kinect is not for the hardcore gamers.

Also, selling the Kinect separately is not a good idea, because most families won't go out of their way to buy it. Sometimes, a company has to force people to try it or include it in the box, so that the process is much easier. You have to help the casual buyer as much as you can, and that means making it very simple for them, otherwise they won't get it.

Every Xbox One comes with a Kinect. Very simple for people wanting to Christmas shop for a Kinect. If you separate the Kinect from the Xbox One, then the casual consumers get confused, and then they just don't buy it. They're trying to make Kinect as popular as possible.

Nintendo wanted to make Wii Sports as popular as possible, so it came bundled with the Wii console. Xbox One wants Kinect to be the next biggest thing, so it is shipping one with every Xbox One console. It's a great idea, I think.

Makes you wonder whats going to happen when they release the Kinectless bundle that everybody is screaming out for though doesn't it. Can say goodbye to developer support for the device once that happens.

It's not like there's much developer support at the moment anyways. Devs know that most gamers don't want Kinect.
