How come most x1 games only at 720p and 900p?

Why did Microsoft abandon more powerful graphics for kinect 2.0 and extra useless tv stuffs? I think Microsoft got ignorant with 360's success now its coming back to haunt them... Sony is not using the complicated cell tech anymore im so sad that x1 will always have inferior versions =(

The games will look, and run better than xbox 360 games.

To me that's what matters the most.

Most? If you have a confirmed list I know some people who would love to see it. Even some of the developers themselves would probably love to know what resolution their unfinished game will natively display once it's complete.

Only Ponies care about resolutions.

Probably because most people outside of the hardcore gaming realm don't care/can't tell the difference

Then why not just have 144p?

Games are 720p or 900p for two reasons.

1. 32MB of ESRAM is nowhere near enough for a reasonably complex 1920x1080 framebuffer.
2. The GPU in the Xbox One isn't very good.

This also accounts for why games are higher res and perform better on PS4. PS4 has no problem hitting 1920x1080.

Not everyone has 1080p TVs.

So they figure might as well turn up graphics settings rather than resolution, because everyone can see the difference there.
