Final Detailed thoughts on Everything XBOX ONE Tour Atlanta My 3 Days Attending!

#1QutePatPosted 10/27/2013 3:34:42 PM
This was an outstanding event in downtown Atlanta... Enjoy my detailed experience and feel free to ask any serious questions you may have about anything relating to the event or XBOX ONE! I will try to answer every question in as much detail as I can!

I attended the tour on Friday night Oct. 25th with my fiancee, Saturday afternoon Oct. 26th with my two oldest nephews, and this morning Oct. 27th by myself..

We waited outside in a line before the allotted time of the event talking to other games standing in line. Microsoft was really low key to my surprise! The only way you knew they were in the city was by the XBOX ONE green paper on the glass doors of the hall they were in... It was a big nice building that is shared with other events going on.. They had no signs or flyers around the city or downtown area advertising that they were there...

Some of their staff would periodically come outside and talk to us or you would see some of the staff walking back to the building off and on because it was their lunch or breaks.. They all wore their black and grey XBOX ONE font shirts. About 15 minutes before they would open, some of their staff would come out to get the crowd hyped... yelling to us "Are you guys excited?!"
We would all scream yeah!!! If it wasn't loud enough they would promo us to get more hyped! The camera men would already be out in our faces filming us screaming, hooping and hollaring! Some people would scream out "Sony sucks and XBOX kills PlayStation 4!" All of this should have been caught on camera.

About 10 minutes before it was time, they let us inside in a single file line into the lobby.. They had the sides roped off and this area looked like a abandoned building that ended with a pair of esculaters going up and coming back down towards us... It was quiet in the building but the staff who greeted us in the lobby were pretty hyped up and excited... At this time they had some staff workers walk down the line to put colored wrist bands on us with the current date. Each day was a different color.

About 3 minuted before it was time to start, they had some of their staff act as hype men and women to pump the crowed up for the cameras.. They had us do a chant each day lead by them..

Them:"When I say XBOX, you say ONE!"
Them: "XBOX!"
Us: "ONE!"
Them: "XBOX!"
Us: "ONE!"
It was kind of in a "We will we will Rock You" rhythm...

1 minute before they told us when we get to 10 seconds we will do a countdown! When the countdown got to 1, instead of yelling "1" they wanted us to yell "XBOX ONE!"

The event was up the tall esculaters so we couldn't see a thing! By this time the DJ they had started spinning his or hers music and we could hear the rest of the staff upstairs getting hype and screaming! At this time this is getting us pumped as well!

Countdown: "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 , 4 , 3, 2, XBOX ONE!"

They let us up the escalator screaming and yelling! Once at the top you are hit with a fantastic wall of green florescence light! They have a chear line of employees standing I'm a narrow line on two sides chearing and dancing! We all run between them giving them all high 5's like a NBA starting lineup! There are game stations everywhere in all directions! You feel like a kid in a candy store! More employees are by the stations chearing, dancing and screaming! That first night I ran straight to Killer Instinct! Most people immediately ran to BF4, Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct!

They had a place set up nice like a high tech night club! They played all kinds of popular music.. TVs were everywhere showing trailers. Gamestop was there to take pre orders.. They had 2 lounge areas, food and drink stations! Unlimited free Doritos and ice cold Mtn Dew with XBOX ONE on the cans! It was all very cool!

Well, my first and currently only question about your "experience" since these according to the thread topic are your final thoughts of the event...why didn't you write about any of the games or the feel of the controller or how frame rates seemed, or anything pretty much that should have been covered in a final thoughts of the tour post.

Pretty much your entire expereince seems to have been in line cheering XBOX ONE and SONY SUCKS. Oh, and that there was free Doritos and Mountain Dew.

I hate to say it, but this really comes off as a troll topic since there are no details about the tour that could give us actual insight to the point of the tour, to give potential customers a hands on experience with the system.

And I made sure to wait at least 10 minutes to see if you were going to copy and past another post since I'd assume your "final detailed thoughts" would've been written out in word/notepad before hand. Like this post was while I waited to make sure to give you enough time.

This got me excited with all the detail. You sir may have 5 internetz.
Anyways I have some questions if you would answer them please.

1. How was DR3 and Killer Instinct?
2. How was the controller and the impulse triggers?
3. Did you get to test out the features like snap and such or see the ui at all?

Well, I really don't expect any of our questions to get answered honestly. He did already put his final detailed thoughts into his first post....

I'm an ass for making this troll post...but really, the opening post is horrible for a thread labelled "Final Detailed Thoughts on EVERYTHING..."

The staff members were very nice and down to earth and they all were smiling ear to ear the whole time... If you asked then where the restroom was, they would personally escort you all the way to the restroom door! They showed us wall plug areas just in case you wanted to charge your cell phones... If you needed anything, they said to let them know... They even cleaned after us and threw our trash away for us if were were finished! I can't say enough how good their customer service was! They had free picture booth stations and everything! The staff was very nice and talkative... Not a single one had a attitude or shyed away when you wanted to talk or ask a question... If their was a two player game (Killer Instinct, Fifa) and you had no one to play with you, they would step in to challenge you!

Each game station had plenty bottles of hand sanitizer! (Nice touch) Microsoft even got us a discount on our parking ticket!

They had a real cool and hype M.C. who would commentate during every tournament... Almost every game had tournaments where you could win prizes.. The grand prize was always the XBOX ONE limited edition T-shirt!

This is the farthest thing from a troll topic! I'm just writing everything I can remember about the experience! I don't have any of this pre typed... I'm writing this from my phone... I ask that you be patient with me and I will love to answer all of your questions... starting now!

I was also at this event and I can tell you.

1. DR3 was pretty solid. It felt like the older games, but on a bigger scale. More zombies, more weapons, better mechanics. The 30fps they claim worked excellent with this game. It's a must buy for me. Killer Instinct ran smoothly for me. It's probably one of the most fun I've had with fighters in a while. Glacius moved kinda slow for my taste, but Jago and Chief Thunder were awesome. This will also get my money.

2. The controller has been a complete improvement upon the 360 controller. It's lighter, thinner, and feels better. The analog sticks are a great improvement, and so are the face buttons/d-pad. My biggest issue will probably be the triggers. I don't know if it was just the controller, but they felt harder to press down for me. The impulse triggers felt nice. I like the feedback from them with what I was doing. They didn't feel cheap like other people have said.

3. We didn't get to test out Kinect with the UI, but I did get a glimpse from when I accidently hit the menu button and when they restarted a system. It looks exactly like the E3/Leaked video of it, and it was really responsive. The Kinect was only used with the new Kinect Sports game, but I will say that it was really responsive (we played the jet-ski game).
