Speaking to investors during EAs second quarter 2014 financial call, chief operating officer Peter Moore discussed how many consoles the company expects on shelves soon. According to Moore, Sony and Microsoft have suggested that there will be 10 million consoles on shelves by March 31, 2014.

Earlier in the call, EA stated its expectation that launch attach rates will be three games per console on average. EA uses these predictions to determine approximately how many next-gen titles it will sell between launch and the end of the fiscal year.

InB4 a bunch of people say they don't have a chance without basing their opinion on anything and then a bunch of other people say they will achieve it easily without basing their opinion on anything.

The Xbox 360 had sold 25 million in America by 2011, after several years to build its library and show its power. They are hoping the X1 will have over a THIRD of that in less than HALF a year?

Bill Gates must have some huge drug habit or something. It's the only way to explain both such unreasonable demands and why they, somehow, need that many sold so fast.

That, or you didn't read properly, because by 10 million next-gen consoles, they mean the PS4 and X1.

Aren't publishers tired of setting unrealistic sales expectations yet?
