All this talk about 720p, upscaled 1080p and native 1080p but what about 1080i?

Wouldn't 1080i solve all problems? It's better then 720p and upscaled 1080p and doesn't cause the problems native 1080p does.

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure 1080i is just as stressful on a GPU as 1080p.

What about enjoying the games the system offers? Just a thought I wanted to throw in the conversation. If a game is absolutely beautiful, but I don't enjoy playing it, it is nothing more than a dust collector.

1080i produces more details then 720p.

While watching movies 720p looks better then 1080i,1080i is pretty much dead except for TV station's but I do not even think you can buy the 720i or 1080i anymore and there is a reason for that.

Pretty much all modern tvs can do 720p, 1080i and 1080p. A tv that can only do 720p and 1080p but no 1080i doesn't even exist as far as i know.

I looked this stuff up a LONG time ago, so I could be wrong, but i is interlaced. p is progressive. p is better for fast moving objects, like in most games, so p is the way to go.
