there's also an article floating around that he said he basically has a blank check from higher ups to buy whatever studio he wants if he chooses.

MS has over 50 billion in the bank...in cash....they can literally buy sony right now if they wanted to.

I wouldn't want that to happen. Everyone needs healthy competition. Without it things just stagnate and there is no need to innovate.

Agreed. I think a lot of people are forgetting this, all one has to do is look at the PS3s launch for evidence. Sony got so cocky from the PS2s success they almost completely screwed the pooch with the PS3 which only got saved in it's second half of the life cycle. Consumers shouldn't want less competition, rather more.

And yet they get their asses kicked almost all fronts recently. Vista, Windows 8, Surface, Zune, Windows phones and now the bad pre release reception for Xbox One. Money means nothing if you don't use it correctly.

Please stop trolling. Windows 8 is growing at the same rate as a Windows 7, people just don't like change. Surface is also a fine device, people were just confused with Windows RT. Windows RT itself is fine as an alternative to Android and iOS, but with cheap tablets now being made with full Windows, it's becoming pointless. Windows Phone just doubled it's market share yoy, and it continues to grow. It's getting more and more developer support and due to the acquisition of Nokia Microsoft is in a good position to do much more.

thats the thing about it though is that if the xbox one starts to tank, microsoft has plenty of money to keep it afloat . if the ps4 tanks. that might be the end of it
