bf4 confirmed to have better textures on xbone

It's not just blurry textures, it's whole textures that are different with less detail.

The ground textures I'm talking about. How could they have gotten this wrong on the PS4 version?

Wow the Xbone one looks like crap. PS4 looks so much smoother and has much lighter, more realistic look to it. Xbone just looks blocky and fake.

It's not less detail textures. The contrast on the XBOX One version is out of wack causing objects in light to seem to pop out more at the expense of extreme black crush.

For example, look at the Soldier's right side (the one lying down) on the XBOX One screenshot. The whole side of face including his ear is consumed by black goo along with the area where the shoulder meets the front of his uniform, whereas they are visible on the PC and PS4 versions. The same can be said for the kneeling soldier on the right. On XBOX One the bdu looks pitch black, but on the other versions you can see it's just a dark forest camo.

The end result of this is a LOSS of detail on the XBOX One version. Meaning, objectively, it can't be the better version.

I'm buying bf4 for the ps4 but I have noticed the Xbone has more detail/textures. Bf4 multiplayer is so hectic explosions/suppression that you won't notice the extra detail. I think you will notice the ps4 versions resolution upgrade when playing on a large television.

I notice the black crush. That's not what I'm talking about. Look again at the ground textures. Compare XO to PS4, then PC to PS4. You'll notice a clear loss of rocks painted. I don't understand why they missed that on the PS4 version.

It doesn't seem to be a loss of rocks painted but the ground texture is slid downwards in the PS4 screen which is weird but not a loss of textures.

See the three rocks above the soldier's head? And the stick above them? Look on the PC screen where the stick meets the rocks and look down at the pale rock that's shaped like a Kuribo's shoe. It's in the same location on the XO screen but the Kuribo Shoe texture has been shifted down to the center of the three rocks on PS4. If you use that as a reference point and look around it you see that the ground texture is the same across all three platforms.

The XBO does seem to have more detail in the textures, but I can't can't help but think it is due in some part to the overall darkness of the image.

It does help the lighting pop though.

Those photos are also another example of how resolution often times means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

yeah ok, LOL. Says the guy that was championing the 360's even smaller "resolution differences" last gen as a huge difference maker.
