Is it really worth upgrading to 'next gen'?

This is the biggest question I have.. is it really worth upgrading to next gen right now? PS4 or XBO, neither have impressive launch titles and they aren't really that different from the 360 or PS3.. both of which have an impressive line of games of their own still to be released next year.

So there in lies my big question.. why are so many people hyped for the next gen? Is it just because it's next gen and people can't fall behind on the trends or is there something more behind it that I haven't been made fully aware of?

For me, yes. But I'm looking forward to several games that will release in the 1st year. I could wait but why? It's highly unlikely the price will drop within a year.

I personally think Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo should've waited a few more years before making any new consoles. The only 8th generation console system that has done well thus far is 3DS.

woah, these consoles are ancient. I'd prob give up on console gaming if I had to wait even a year longer.

What is more important? Decent games or cutting edge tech?

Decent games. Hands down. What's the point of cutting edge tech if you don't have any decent games to play on it?

It all boils down to personal preference, I for one have been wanting a new gen for a while.

No for Xbone, yes for PS4.
