so is it just a matter of time till they overtake console gaming??

Here is a relevant link:

I kinda wonder sometimes if maybe the Wii U was sort of a canary in the mine shaft for consoles. I'm sure both the X1 and PS4 will sale well through the holidays. Wii U also sold well during it's initial launch. With that in mind I think the real test for the viability of the X1 and PS4 to have a 6-9 year lifespan will be seen in the 'down' months of 2014. Such as February-August. That is the time frame when the Wii U sales went terribly low.

As seen here:

Anyways thoughts?

Ever try to use a sniper rifle on Deer Hunter 2014 with a phone or pad?
Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most phone games are about $1 and offer nothing more than 10 minutes of play time filled to the brim with underwhelming mediocre gameplay.

FPS games, and practically every game that requires more then one button and simple movement quickly become a chore which makes you have fantasies of better times. like a controller.

Also while yes I do agree that many mobile games are not very good, there have been some better ones made. These 2 are good examples:

Infinity Blade series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVTuv5qqDcQ

Maybe because if someone can play the same kind of game on their phone they don't really see the point in getting a 3DS. This has certainly been the trend in Japan were mobile gaming is extremely popular.

Notice how I said 'same kinda of game' as in same genres. Obviously you won't get specific IPs if the publisher is not willing to release it on certain platforms.
