How do people choose their console

#11NSGraphitePosted 11/7/2013 8:46:03 AM
The only "rational" decision when it comes to choosing a console is that it has the games you want to play. the next most rational reason is you choose it because you really enjoyed its predecessors and you expect something similar from the successor. the third most rational reason is that it has features that interest you (many people bought a ps2 as their first dvd player and the ps3 as their first bd player)

Any other reasons while likely somewhat valid are going to fall into the fanboy zone.

I don't always Troll on the internet. But when I do, I make it the Xbox-One forums...

I'm not a fanboy of any company, I love Xbox games, love PS games and love Wii U games.

The ONLY thing that made my decision was the forced bundling of the kinect, I hate it, will not use it and certainly will not buy it.

So PS4 for me as MS seem not to be releasing a kinect free bundle.

I based my purchase on price and games.

Console wars are like pissing contests. So yeah.

Rational is very subjective.

Saying you're not a Fanboy before going off on an Xbox One hate speech? Typical Sony Fanboy.

Well, I like to choose my console carefully. First, I inspect it to see if it was developed by a good, wholesome, hardworking American company such as Microsoft. If the answer is yes, I purchase said console on the spot without hesitation or second thought. If the answer is no, then I pass it up and look for a console developed by a good, wholesome, hardworking American company such as Microsoft.

But John, microsoft OUTSOURCES jobs left and right.

I hear the hardware is made in Mexico or China( I can't remember which)

I know for a fact they out source their tech calls. The two or three times I had to call about the RROD, the person helping me had an accent so thick I could barely understand them.

I don't think a lot of people do.

Microsoft may have had trouble revealing the X1, they went back on a lot of policies, I'm not saying to trust a company after going back on what they originally said, but pretty sure a lot of companies do this.

It's a mistake they make, but the only way to have a happy medium is to go back on certain things.

It's like how people think MS have policies where they will spy on you with the Kinect, take your personal information and most likely sell it to third parties. This may be true, but it's also true with many companies in the world. Even Sony do this, I just feel people are going out of their way to prove how evil MS are, without thinking properly.

I'm getting both consoles, neither on launch though. I will be getting the X1 first, reason being is that I just feel comfortable playing my 360. I own a lot of games on the 360, I have LIVE and I've had no problems with my 360, nor my account. Same with my PS3, I do enjoy playing on it and it's got some great exclusives and many JRPG's that I can enjoy.

I started this generation with a PS3, but moved to the 360 and it has become my main console, but it doesn't mean I have to pick and choose which console to go with because of stupid policies that many companies enforce anyway.

I know a lot of people can't just go out and buy everything as soon as possible, I can't for that matter.

What is up with all these America haters all of the sudden? I say an American company, and you have to go talking up Mexico and China. I would expect that though. Sony Fanboys, much like America haters tend to be real flakes and bail when the grass looks greener and more convenient to them.

John, John, John.

You're not understanding what I'm posting. I live in Michigan and love this country.

I don't consider myself a sony fanboy, I consider myself a microsoft hater because of all the bad experiences I've had with the 360.

My first post was to point out you're supporting a company that TAKES JOBS FROM AMERICANS AND SEND THEM TO OTHER COUNTIES. To me, it seems like microsoft hates American workers.

That is capitalism, baby! And if you hate capitalism, that makes you either a lazy, entitled, welfare loving, handout taking liberal socialist. Or, you are a communist. A dirty, smelly one, too.

Also, if you hate capitalism, you hate America.
