So question about hooking this up to cable for those who may know.

This may be a stupid question but if I end up hooking my xbox one up to my cable box, will the one always have to be on to just watch tv? Or should I be able to just turn on the cable box by itself as normal right now. Only reason I ask is my wife is "technology impaired"lol and I can just see her getting frustrated trying to turn everything on. Haha.

You have to plug the HDMI from your cable box into the HDMI on the back of the xbox, so unless you have an HDMI splitter, the Xbox will have to be on if you want to watch cable through it.

Yeah don't think I am gong to use the cable feature then. Plus I don't that much wear and tear on the console. We watch a lot of tv plus have a little one that loves Disney jr lol and I don't want the system on all that time.

i dont know what they were thinking expecting people to have 2 boxes on to watch tv. isnt the whole purpose of the the to be ONE machine for everything?

they should have worked with cable providers to provide a solution like htey did with the xbox 360 to watch directly through the conzole
