Not really...

Valve would be a better choice IMO.

Because Valve have the money? Valve have what, a few billion at most. MS have 10x what they do if not more what do you expect Valve to do?

Roughly $2.5 billion.

Apple has the money for it, but it's overseas. They would pay so much in taxes it would not be a wise financial investment.

The problem is Microsoft would probably rather just close Xbox division then sell it to Apple their hated arch enemy. No way they sell it to the company that humiliates and defeats them on so many fronts.

Considering that MS have lost a couple billion on that division, what do people expect them to do? Reduce the costs by 90%, make it more powerful and sell it for less?

Valve can't buy a whole console division, it's just ridiculous to say they could.

Do you guys send PMs to each other discussing what topic you're going to spam on the X1 board that day? It sure seems like it...

Considering what that potential CEO has said? You can probably expect topics like this for at least the next few days. It's also even bigger news than it normally would be considering only a few months ago the investors who were calling for Ballmer to be outed also were calling for Xbox to be sold and Bing shut down then this potential CEO contender shows up and is saying the exact same things?

It's news man, and significant.

Valve, Apple or Google would be the best matches for the Xbox brand to drop into (if it so were to get sold)

Apple and Google already have a much better brand recognition than Xbox and they would be much better off without such a burden.

Valve would be much better off without the Xbox burden as well.
