If new Microsoft CEO is Stephen Elop, he wants to sell XBOX Division...

#1Full ThrottlePosted 11/8/2013 6:52:23 PM
It looks like the new search for Microsoft CEO is quickly underway and if it goes to Nokia President Stephen Elop, he says he wants plans to sell the XBOX division because it is actually a money loser for the company because of the hidden costs it is not disclosing for patent royalties and purchases of companies for the gaming division that has not garnered any money. Also because of the money spent on exclusives which didn't pay off as much as they had hoped.

Elop wants to focus on the core business of software and windows phone because those are the big money makers as Windows 8 is falling on the wayside.

It appears Microsoft tried really hard to kick Sony out of the console business in the 360 vs PS3 race..but they failed

Good thing this is all pure speculation. When asked by Bloomberg to comment, Microsoft replied, "We appreciate Bloomberg's foray into fiction and look forward to future episodes."

STFU.

As posted above, MS spokesperson has already debunked what he said and MS has stated multiple times that they will support the console for many years to come.

Of course it's speculation. Until it actually occurs, which is a possibility, it's nothing but fiction >.> The point is that it IS possible. This guy is adamant about getting rid of Xbox, has been for awhile now.

It`s not going to happen. The Xbox One will make a profit at launch which will appease shareholders. Hell, most of the board doesn`t want the Xbox division sold off. Add in the fact that Bill Gates loves the Xbox and he is the one picking the new CEO, you can bet that the Xbox division will be around for a while.

Lol. Why would anybody from Microsoft actually say they will get rid of the Xbox division?! Yeah it's all speculation so far but where there's smoke there's fire. If Elop becomes CEO look for these rumors/speculations to pick up steam. The pressure is on the Xbox division to make the One a success.
