So with the news that the person MS might select to replace the current CEO with, wants to dismantle the Xbox department due to it's loses, along with support backing from other investors it could possibly come true. So do you think it'll end up like the Dreamcast? Dreamcast had a good run while it lasted but was dropped due to similar issues. Which is sort of ironic since Microsoft helped with the Dreamcast, now the Xbox One might end up like a system they previously helped create.

I voted, Not sure. What's your opinion, Gamefaqs?

No, it's in an entirely different situation I think. Whether or not the Xbone will be a success or will struggle, I don't think it will be the end of the brand. Regardless of whether or not Microsoft keeps it or decides to sell it, I believe the brand is still strong enough to be in the hardware realm. What needs to be decided is whether or not those in charge of it currently are doing a good job furthering it's goals or not.

Maybe. If One does end up like being like the Dreamcast, the only similarities would be in how both consoles died early on in their lifecycle. But unlike the Dreamcast, which died being loved by many and was considered to be ahead of it's time, One will die with a completely different and negative reputation.

It's going to be a black stain on Microsoft for the next ten years since Microsoft executives said they won't be replacing it until 10 yrs. down the road.

I doubt it as Dreamcast was a awesome console and my favorite console so far. I doubt the Xbone could be anywhere near as good as the Dreamcast.

OK where are you getting this info? From what I've read, the Xbox brand may be sold off. I've heard of NO INDICATION that it'd be discontinued and killed. That'd makes no sense

No, the Wii U and the Vita are already fighting over that title.

I went with "Not Sure" ....The potential is strongly there...but it is also potentially there for it not to be...I would go so far as to say that this could be the final console for Microsoft however. I think the Xbox One will sell well, but I think there are signs it's a headache that Microsoft is really tired of having.

Hold up the Dreamcast had AMAZING fighting games. Yeah it lacked a ton of genres but at least it had one thing on lock.

Perhaps it will be the new SEGA Saturn:
- more expensive than its competition;
- supposedly weaker;
- follows the company's most successful console;
- previous console lost focus when targeting a different market with add-ons.
