Question

So, here's what I'm thinking. I know that MS is pushing the TV features, but I don't have cable, and even if I did, my understanding is that the TV support won't be available in Canada at launch.

But...

If I plug my PC tower, which currently uses my 40" LCD as it's monitor anyways, into the HDMI IN on the XB1, when I say 'X-Box: Go To TV', it would in fact go to my PC, right? So I could be using Firefox through my XB1 while still having all the Snap functions and notifications from Live?

The HDMI is just a pass thru so yes, you could just use the input for any other HDMI device your TV/monitor supports.
