Ms just spent billions developing x1. They arent about to bow out. In all likelihood sony will be backing out if ps4 doesnt sell to projections.

It's possible if the XB1 fails as hard as people suspect/want it to. The profits increase could very well be over 40% in that case.

However, we all know it won't. It'll at least have some modicum of success and very likely be highly profitable. I could see them "bowing out" of the console market to pursue phones/casual gaming/portables perhaps, but I don't see them dropping gaming. Market trends change.

They should just concentrate on Windows.

With only Sorny and Nintoddler to choose from, console gaming would truly be dead.

They WILL not bow out. They gained a lot of the gaming market in the past 10 years.

And they will have lost it again by the end of this coming gen

Don't be silly... It may take a price drop to get the casual market on board. But the Xbox One has everything it needs to succeed. You don't need the best hardware or the best graphics. They already have a plan to please their hardcore fans while branching out and reaching new audiences. That's visible even in the launch titles.

I guarantee MS has already started working on the successor to Xbox One.

I guarantee you have no idea what you're talking about.
