My room isn't the typical couch 6 feet away from tv in well lit room with windows. I sit on a bed about 13 feet away from the TV.

There are no windows so the lighting is poor and I am in virtual darkness for most of the day. There also is a fan between the TV and my bed

TLDR

My bed is far from my TV, the lighting is poor and there is some sound interference. Does the Kinect 1 detect voices from the control like the PS4 or would the Kinect/Voice control be unusable is that situation.

You might need to be abit closer for a good read not sure on that, but the kinect can see in the dark so no worries about lighting there, and should be fine for voice controls as long as its calibrated to where you will be playing from.

Exactly how close can you be for Kinect to work? I have both a gaming monitor and a TV and I'd like to have the full functionality of Kinect while using the monitor...

Lighting isn't an issue, it can see in the dark, not sure about the distance though.

Kinect 2 works and will still see a full body biometrics if you are as close as 1.4 metres away from the camera

I want to know how far away will it detect my voice without me having to scream.

You shouldnt have to raise your voice but Its best to speak a little louder and more pronouced but the new kinect can detect your voice over others in a group since youre the primary user. I dont think you need to worry about that
