Can't find info on this anywhere.

The Wii U and the PS4 have a nifty little feature, that I just learned about 20 minutes ago, where you can plug in any headset to your controller and you can get the game or chat audio (or both.) While it's not a major selling point for me, but none-the-less that's a pretty awesome feature for those who like to do their gaming quietly.

Anyways can I get some help? I'm having a hard time finding info if the Xbox One has this feature. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Yes there are existing headsets for the 360 that can do it. I don't know what the Wii U is like but I know the DS4 is 3.5mm, or your standard ipod earphones. The 360 (and presumably the One) require I think it's 2.5mm so standard headphones won't work. You can gaming headsets (which will surely have better quality than standard earphones) that can output both game audio and chat.

Google Turtle Beach or Astros or Tritton, stuff like that.

This is the best I can find. It says you can get audio through a headset, but does it mean something like a Turtle Beach, which gets audio from the console's optical out, or does it mean just a chat headset hooked up to the controller?

Fro0m what I know yes, but the port on the controller is new for higher quality audio Microsoft says, so you will need a new headset that works with it.

But next year they say they will be releasing an adapter for normal headsets, so I may get one of those.

XB1 uses a proprietary connection for the audio on the controller, so not just any headset will work. Apparently an adapter is in the works for 2014 release, can also pick up XB1 specific headsets. They have a much higher bandwidth for the wireless controller connection now too so it's very possible you'd be able to get high quality sound through the controller with a connected headset, but I haven't actually heard what their plans for that is.

As long as it is possible to get game and chat audio by just plugging it in to the controller, that's all I need. Thanks!
