Any console.

Mine is between FF XII and Legend of Dragoon.... man LoD was something amazing. I know FF XII was disliked by many but I throughly enjoyed it especially the difficulty.

What about you guys?

The Last of Us. It simply does everything right. Great gameplay, fantastic graphics and sound design along with the best story in any medium (IMO, of course).

It's a turn-based strategy game from the late-90s that everyone seems to have forgotten about.

its Civilization in space

mine is Final Fantasy 7. Excellent characterisation, coupled with superb sprawling story covering multiple adult themes. and on top of that, a game where the developers showed just how to reward side quests and exploration

Pokemon R/B/Y (I count them as one game <.<) The game that pretty much started it all for me was Pokemon Yellow. I had an NES that I never played and my brother had a Genesis and N64 that I played occasionally. But when I got my GBC and Pokemon Yellow I was instantly hooked.
